Tomtom GO 520 GB

The GO 520 GB is the newly uopdated version of the GO 510 and GO 500.  The GO 520 GB has all the necessary features of the more expensive Tomtoms but contains only street level maps of the UK and Eire.  You can also buy additional maps if required.

The bright touch screen is as simple to use.  Just enter the address or post code and off you go.  If you're unsure of the address of places such as hotels or pubs just enter the name into the POI list and it will give you a list of possibilities, simply select the correct one.

The GO 520 GB directions are good, giving street names as well as simple " turn left " or " straight ahead ", so it would say "turn left onto Station Street ".  The choice of voices has been extended with the record your own or someone else's voice selection.

The POI list is long and extremely useful.  If you are low on petrol or need to rest, the POI list will guide you to the nearest petrol station or place to stop and then will continue to direct you to your destination.

The hands free Bluetooth facility along with your compatible mobile phone makes for safer driving.  All calls will be directed through your sat nav and even text messages will be read aloud.

The Tomtom GO 520 GB also has an FM modulator so you can get your directions through an empty radio station so your volume can be as loud as you like.  You can have the radio playing and it will fade out for the directions to be heard.

The GO 520 also has speed camera warnings and a traffic avoidance feature so you can avoid traffic jams and route planning preferences.
